
Agios Nikolaos Museum
Brief Overview
The museum contains archaeological finds in chronological order beginning with the Neolithic era, Minoan remains, and ending with Greco-Roman finds.
It consists of eight large rooms and amongst its most famous exhibits is the Goddess of Mirtos, a libation vessel in the form of a female figure discovered at a Bronze Age settlement at Fournos, near Mirtos.
The museum also contains important items of the Daedalic Period which dates back to the 7th century BC, notably the head of a clay statue of a woman found near Sitia.
